Born on 12 November 1979 in Owerri, Nigeria, Osinachi Nwachukwu grew up in an Igbo Christian household. She received her education at a private school before continuing to a private university, where she nurtured her passion for music and ministry.
Career
Osinachi Nwachukwu emerged as a powerful gospel voice in Nigeria’s Christian music scene. Known for her deeply spiritual performances and songs rendered primarily in Igbo, she touched countless lives through her ministry. Her music resonated with believers, thanks to her emotional delivery and devotion to worship.
Her breakthrough came in 2017 when she featured on the worship anthem “Ekwueme” by Prospa Ochimana, a song that catapulted her into national and international recognition. She also contributed her vocals to popular gospel tracks such as “Nara Ekele” by Pastor Paul Enenche and “You No Dey Use Me Play” by Emma. Osinachi became known for her unwavering commitment to faith and her ability to lead worship with sincerity and power.
Osinachi’s life was cut short on 8 April 2022. While initial reports attributed her death to throat cancer, her family later disclosed that she suffered long-term domestic abuse. Following a thorough investigation, her husband, Peter Nwachukwu, was arrested and charged.
Osinachi Nwachukwu’s voice, faith, and legacy continue to inspire worshipers. Her untimely death shocked many, but her songs remain a testament to her calling and passion for God.
