Blaqbonez and Ckay Recall Getting “Stranded” in Peckham During Early UK Trip
Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has left fans laughing after recounting a hilarious story about how he and fellow artist Ckay accidentally ended up “stranded” in Peckham, South London, during one of their first trips to the UK.
Speaking on the In My Opinion podcast, the Cinderella Girl rapper described how both artists, excited and new to London, thought they had found a great Airbnb deal—until they arrived and realized the apartment was located in Peckham.
“Soon as we land in London, we discovered that the apartment was in Peckham,” Blaqbonez laughed. “I was like, ‘Eh! All the London we’ve been seeing doesn’t look like this!’”
The rapper recalled how they proudly told friends, “We’re in London!”—only to be met with confusion when they mentioned Peckham.
“They’d say, ‘Where are you?’ and we’d reply, ‘Peckham.’ Then they’d go, ‘Aye bro, what you doing in the ends?’”
Blaqbonez admitted they had no idea what “the ends” meant until someone explained it referred to a rough neighborhood. Realizing their mistake, the pair decided to pack up and find somewhere else to stay.
He joked that the two ended up hauling their luggage through London, doing what he called “mandatory walking” as they searched for new accommodation.
When asked if he’d ever go back to Peckham, Blaqbonez burst out laughing:
“Never again! Once bitten, twice shy.”
