Veteran entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, has voiced strong support for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as she resumed her duties at the National Assembly. The senator representing Kogi Central returned on Tuesday after a six-month suspension related to alleged misconduct.
Deputy Director of the National Assembly Sergeant-at-Arms, Alabi Adedeji, formally reopened her office, marking her official return to legislative responsibilities.
Charly Boy celebrated her comeback with a bold statement on social media, posting a photo of the senator and hailing her as a symbol of strength. “Una don hear say Senator Natasha don enter National Assembly?” he wrote. “You can’t mess with an Alpha woman like dat. It seems like they have exhausted their lies; the only available option is to unseal or face international sanctions. Akpabio, be careful next time, no be all women be ntanta.”
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had been suspended in March following a dispute involving Senate President Godswill Akpabio. Prior to the suspension, she accused Akpabio of sexual harassment a claim he denied. While the Senate officially cited other issues for the suspension, public discourse often tied it to her allegations.
Despite mounting political pressure, Senator Natasha stood firm. Upon her return, she reiterated her refusal to issue an apology, stating she had nothing to regret and reaffirming her commitment to representing her constituents with integrity.
