Nigerian rapper and outspoken activist Eedris Abdulkareem has raised alarm over the sudden suspension of his Facebook and Instagram accounts. He says the takedown happened shortly after he released his new political track, Open Letter to Donald Trump, on November 30, 2025.
The veteran rapper revealed on Sunday that he has been unable to access both platforms since the song’s release. A check confirmed that his pages on the two Meta-owned platforms are no longer visible. Meta has not issued any statement explaining the removal or clarifying whether the accounts were suspended for violating any policies.
Eedris did not state whether he received any warnings or notifications before the suspension. The rapper is known for his bold commentary on politics, corruption, and governance. His new track, released under Lakreem Entertainment, focuses on issues such as corruption, insecurity, and poor leadership in Nigeria. Although framed as a message to U.S. President Donald Trump, the song largely addresses Nigerian political leaders.
This is not the first time Eedris Abdulkareem has faced backlash for his music. In April 2025, the National Broadcasting Commission banned his song Tell Your Papa, claiming it contained content that violated broadcast regulations.
