Nollywood veteran-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo has once again made headlines, this time with a bold political prediction. The actor, best known for his iconic role in the 1992 film Living in Bondage, has confidently declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will take power in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking during an interview on Sunrise Daily, a Channels Television programme, Okonkwo said the party was fully prepared to form Nigeria’s next government. According to him, the ADC has built a strong nationwide presence and is determined to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“In 2027, we stand a chance in every election in Nigeria,” Okonkwo said. “We are going to form the next government in Nigeria and send Tinubu to Bourdillon.”

Okonkwo, who officially joined the ADC after leaving the Labour Party, explained that the party has built structures across all 36 states of the federation. He also revealed that in Rivers State, former minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi is one of the prominent figures within the ADC, positioning him as a key leader in the South-South.

The actor-turned-lawyer has been very vocal about Nigeria’s political direction, often stressing the need for fresh leadership and accountability. His presence in politics has attracted significant attention, with many Nollywood fans keeping an eye on his transition from screen roles to political commentary.

Okonkwo’s confidence in the ADC adds to growing conversations about what the 2027 elections could look like. While some Nigerians remain skeptical about the chances of smaller parties, others believe that the hunger for change could shift the nation’s political landscape.

For now, Kenneth Okonkwo seems determined not only to make films but also to shape the future of Nigerian politics with his bold declarations and unwavering optimism.
