Early Life

Ibinabo Fiberesima was born to a Nigerian father and an Irish mother. She began her early education at the Y.M.C.A Play Centre in Port Harcourt. She later attended Federal Government Girls College in New Bussa, Niger State for her secondary education.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Ibadan. She further pursued a Masterโ€™s degree in Audio Visual Management at the Media Business School in Ronda, Spain.

Her journey started in modeling, where she collected numerous accolades. She secured the first runner-up position in the 1991 Miss Nigeria pageant and placed second runner-up at the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) competition. She also won the Miss Wonderland title in 1990.

Career

In 1998, she transitioned into acting with her debut in the action thriller Most Wanted, officially launching her film career. She became the first woman to lead the Actors Guild of Nigeria as its president. She directed the films Miebaka and Along Came a Butterfly, marking her directorial debut. Ibinabo Fiberesima currently serves as a Brand Ambassador for Air Peace and Image Make-Up Nigeria. Since 2002, she has overseen the Miss Earth Nigeria Beauty Pageant as its National Director. She enjoys swimming, reading, cooking, acting, and traveling, and passionately advocates for environmental sustainability.

In 1990, Ibinabo won the Miss Wonderland pageant and took the first runner-up spot at the Miss NUGA competition held at the University of Calabar. She competed in the 1991 Miss Nigeria pageant, finishing as the first runner-up. In 1992, she participated in the MBGN pageant and secured the second runner-up position.

She returned to the Miss Nigeria competition in 1997, again finishing as first runner-up and later won the Miss Wonderful title. In 1998, she once more placed as second runner-up at the MBGN pageant.

Ibinabo built a successful acting career after her appearance in Most Wanted, going on to feature in several Nigerian films, including Passion of Mary Slessor.
