Early Life
Oge Okoye, born on November 16, 1980, is a Nigerian actress recognized for her dynamic performances in Nollywood. Although she hails from Nnewi in Anambra State, she was born and partly raised in London before returning to Nigeria for her education.
She began her early schooling at University Primary School in Enugu and completed her secondary education at Holy Rosary College, also in Enugu. Driven by a passion for performance, she pursued a degree in Theatre Arts at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
Career
Oge entered the Nigerian film industry in 2001 and quickly made a name for herself. She gained national fame in 2002 after starring in Spanner alongside Chinedu Ikedieze. Her captivating presence and emotional depth in roles set her apart early in her career.
In 2006, her performance in Eagle’s Bride earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the African Movie Academy Awards, further cementing her place in Nollywood.
Oge married Stanley Duru in 2005, and they had two children together before going their separate ways in 2012.
With a career spanning over two decades, Oge Okoye remains one of Nollywood’s most recognized and respected actresses, known for her elegance, versatility, and lasting influence in the industry.
