Early Life
Wole Ojo, born on June 6, 1984, is a Nigerian actor with deep roots in performance and theatre. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Creative Arts from the University of Lagos. His journey into acting began at the young age of nine, and by eleven, he was also performing on stage at a UNICEF-sponsored event for Childrenโs Day at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs.
Career
Woleโs career began in childrenโs programming, with appearances in the beloved Nigerian series Kidivision 101 and One Big Family on NTA. His early exposure to the screen laid a strong foundation for his later success. He gained national recognition in 2009 after winning the fourth edition of the Amstel Malta Box Office reality show, which launched him into mainstream Nollywood.
His breakout film role came in Miami (2011), where he played Kashimawo. Since then, Wole has also appeared in notable TV series including Tinsel, Everyday People, This Life, One Love, Haven, and The Maze. His performances are often lauded for their emotional depth and authenticity.
Wole Ojo is also an accomplished director. One of his notable directorial works includes staging Langbodo, a celebrated play by Wale Ogunyemi. His creative versatility continues to earn him respect across stage and screen.
He also won Best Student Actor at the Peak Awards in 2010, and later secured the Best Actor award at the Eko International Film Festival for his role in Kamsi. He has also received multiple nominations including Most Promising Actor at the Africa Movie Academy Awards and Best New Actor at the City People Entertainment Awards.
