Singer and actress Halle Bailey has obtained a domestic violence restraining order against her ex-boyfriend and the father of her child, rapper DDG, following serious allegations of physical abuse.
The court’s decision follows Bailey’s detailed allegations of ongoing physical, verbal, emotional, and financial abuse during their relationship.
According to court documents, Bailey stated that DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., assaulted her multiple times. In one particularly violent incident in January, she said DDG slammed her face into a steering wheel, chipping her tooth and leaving visible bruises on her arms. She also accused him of entering her home without permission, sending her threatening messages, and smashing her Ring camera after it recorded a confrontation between them.
Halle Bailey told the court she fears for her safety and for the safety of their 17-month-old son, Halo. She also asked the judge to prevent DDG from using his social media platforms to incite his followers against her. The court agreed, issuing a temporary restraining order that requires DDG to remain at least 100 yards away from both Bailey and Halo.
The court has scheduled a hearing for June to determine whether to make the restraining order permanent. In the meantime, Bailey continues to prioritize her safety and that of her child, taking legal action to protect them from further harm.
