Early Life

Angel Unigwe, born Divine-Angel Onyinyechi Unigwe on June 27, 2005, is a Nigerian actress, model, and presenter. Her journey into entertainment began at an early age. Raised in a supportive family, her mother played a key role in introducing her to acting. From childhood, Angel showed a natural flair for performance, which led her to participate in television commercials before fully transitioning into acting.

Career

Unigwe made her acting debut in 2015 with the television series Alisonโ€™s Stand. Since then, she has captured the hearts of audiences across Nigeria with her compelling screen presence. By consistently delivering strong performances, she quickly became one of Nollywoodโ€™s most recognized young talents.

She has featured in over 30 Nigerian films, including Woe Man, Everything in Between, Middle of Nowhere, Mute, Ajoche, King of Boys, Code Wilo, Light in the Dark, and Three Thieves. In Light in the Dark, she appeared alongside top Nollywood actors, and in Three Thieves she portrayed Fuwe in a film that received nationwide theatrical release.

In 2021, Unigwe starred in the drama series The Olive, further proving her versatility as an actress. Her performances have earned her several awards, including Child Actor of the Year in 2019, Best Young/Promising Actor at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, and Best Child Actress at the 2021 Best of Nollywood Awards. In 2023, she was honored with the Trailblazer Award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, a testament to her rising influence in the industry.
