Popular Nigerian actor, Stan Nze, has made it clear that risking his life for a movie role is not bravery but pure foolishness. The actor, who has starred in several hit Nollywood films, recently shared his thoughts on role interpretation and how far he is willing to go as a performer.

Speaking with The Nation, Stan Nze explained that some actors think endangering their lives on set makes them more talented, but he strongly disagrees. He stressed that Nollywood, just like Hollywood, has trained stunt professionals whose job is to handle risky scenes. According to him, it makes no sense to put his life in danger when there are experts paid to perform such stunts safely.

“Why would I risk my life jumping from a dangerous height in a movie? Jumping characters are done by stunt guys. That’s their job. They are well paid for such roles,” Nze said. He added that he has no plans of performing risky stunts that could leave him injured or worse.

The Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story star went further to say that an actor dying for a role would not make him a legend. Instead, people would only mourn briefly and then move on. For him, that is not worth the sacrifice.

“I will only do the ones I’m meant to do so that the stunt men can do their job too,” he concluded.

Stan Nze’s statement has sparked conversations online about safety in Nollywood and how much pressure actors face when it comes to proving their craft. His perspective highlights the importance of professionalism and valuing one’s life above unnecessary risks.
