Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun is celebrating his son, Khalid Balogun, for showcasing impressive musical talent. Taking to Instagram, the Yoruba film star proudly shared a video of his son performing, while hailing him with the words, “Like father, like son! The apple doesn’t fall from the tree.” He went on to announce that Khalid will be hosting a dance concert, Beat n Feet Concert, on November 29, encouraging fans to follow the event page and get their tickets.

Khalid is already making his parents proud with more than just his artistic skills. Earlier this year, he graduated from the University of Lagos with a first-class degree, an achievement that brought immense joy to both Saidi Balogun and his ex-wife, actress Faithia Williams. Faithia, who was overwhelmed with gratitude, described her son’s feat as one of her proudest moments. Saidi, on his part, expressed deep thanks to God, noting that his son’s success restored happiness to his life following the heartbreaking loss of one of his daughters last year.

Saidi and Faithia, who married in 2000 and divorced in 2014, share two children together: Khalid and Aliyah. Their divorce was messy, with public disputes and a long period of strained relations. At one point, Saidi demanded that Faithia drop his surname, Balogun, as part of the separation terms. However, time has healed old wounds, and in recent years the former couple has shown signs of reconciliation. Last year, Saidi surprised many when he penned a warm birthday tribute to Faithia, offering her prayers and good wishes. Faithia also reciprocated by celebrating Saidi’s birthday publicly, signaling a renewed sense of peace between them.

Now, with Khalid stepping into the spotlight both academically and artistically, it is clear that he carries the talent and determination of his famous parents, while carving out a path of his own.
