Nollywood star Queen Nwokoye has opened up about the long-awaited collaboration between her and fellow actress Funke Akindele, revealing why they had not worked together until now. Speaking in a recent interview with Seun Oloketuyi, Queen explained that although Funke frequently invited her to participate in various film projects, the timing was never right due to her personal commitments.

According to Queen, her family has always been her top priority, which often influenced her availability for movie roles. She revealed that Toyin Abraham had also been reaching out to her since 2016, yet they only managed to work together this year. She emphasized that this delay was not intentional but rather the result of circumstances beyond her control.
Queen also reflected on a deeply emotional period in her life. In 2019, she lost both of her parents within six months a tragedy that reshaped her outlook and pushed her to focus on balancing her work with her personal wellbeing. She shared that navigating two burial ceremonies in such a short time was extremely challenging, but she has since made a conscious choice to embrace happiness and move forward with faith and resilience.
Married to businessman Oluchi Uzoma since 2011, Queen is a devoted mother of three and continues to approach her career with intentionality and balance. Now, with renewed energy and a positive outlook, she is set to appear in Toyin Abraham’s directorial debut, Oversabi Aunty, marking another exciting milestone in her journey.
Queen Nwokoye’s story highlights the importance of prioritizing family, mental wellbeing, and timing in the entertainment industry.
