Two-time Grammy-nominated Afrobeats artist Ayra Starr has released her new single “Tornado,” from her upcoming third studio album Starrgirl.
The track, out now via Mavin Records and Republic Records, was produced by Skillies, Shizzi, and RiotUSA, and arrived after Starr debuted the song live during her Tiny Desk performance.
“Tornado” follows “Where Do We Go,” which has earned more than 1.3 billion streams worldwide since its release, and continues Starr’s rollout toward Starrgirl, released August 14, 2026.
Starrgirl is anchored by both “Where Do We Go” and “Tornado,” and features star-studded collaborations including ZAYN, Leon Thomas, and Wizkid, blending Afrobeats, R&B, and pop across sixteen tracks.
Starr’s 2025 included several milestones, including becoming the first African female artist to have two songs surpass 500 million Spotify streams, driven by the success of her hit “Rush.”
