British-Nigerian rapper Dave is finally bringing his live show home. The Grammy-nominated artist, born David Orobosa Omoregie, has announced his first-ever headline concerts in Lagos, scheduled for October 16 and 17 at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Theatre, in Surulere.
Dave shared the news on his Instagram Story, writing, “Lagos, Nigeria! I’m announcing my first-ever headline shows here, and we have made sure this homecoming will be special,” while urging fans to sign up for early access to tickets. The two Lagos dates will close out the African leg of his “The Boy Who Played The Harp” tour, which supports his third studio album of the same name and has already taken him across Europe, North America and Australia.
The shows carry deep personal significance for the 27-year-old rapper, whose parents are Nigerian and whose father was deported to Nigeria when Dave was an infant. Despite being born and raised in London, Dave has consistently woven his Nigerian heritage into his music and public persona, and a Lagos homecoming has been a long time coming for an artist widely regarded as one of the most decorated British rappers of his generation. At just 27, he became the first UK artist to debut three consecutive studio albums at number one on the UK Albums Chart, a run that includes his Mercury Prize-winning debut, “Psychodrama.”
Nigerian fans will also recognise Dave from his recent collaboration with Grammy-winning singer Tems on “Raindance,” a standout single from “The Boy Who Played The Harp” that topped charts in the UK and has since earned Tems a 2026 MTV VMA nomination. That connection to Nigeria’s music scene makes the Lagos shows feel less like just another tour stop and more like a natural next step in a relationship Dave has been building for years.
Presented by Live Nation and MASSIVE, the Lagos concerts follow previously announced African dates in Pretoria on October 3 and a sold-out show in Cape Town on October 6. For a city that has increasingly become a stop for major global tours, Dave’s debut headline performance adds another marquee name to Lagos’s growing reputation as a live entertainment destination, and fans eager to catch him will want to move quickly once tickets go live.
