Early Life

Emmanuel Benjamin, professionally known as Eben, was born on September 9, 1979, in Lagos, Nigeria. He grew up as the fifth of six children in a Christian household. He attended Orile Primary School and Community Grammar School in Orile, Lagos. Originally mentored by his elder brother as a rapper, Eben discovered his singing talent and chose to pursue gospel music.

Career

Eben officially began his music career in 1997. He gained public attention in 2005 during a youth conference organized by Pastor Chris, where he performed the now-popular track Imaranma. In 2006, he became an active member of Christ Embassy, further establishing his place in the gospel music scene.

In 2007, Eben released his debut album On the Rock, which included powerful tracks like God Dey, I Don Hammer, and Iwo Nikan. He followed up with Phenomenon in 2010 and Justified in 2013, showcasing his consistency in producing spiritually uplifting music. His album Magnified continued this momentum, with worship-focused songs like Stayed on You and Idi Nma.

One of his biggest breakthroughs came with the viral success of Victory, a powerful anthem of faith and triumph that solidified his impact globally.

Eben also runs his own label, Hammer House of Rock, and its business extension, Hammer House Ventures, which offers music production, event management, and interior decoration services.

In 2019, he hosted Joyful Noise, a live concert featuring top gospel artists and international guests such as Bob Fitts and Phil Thompson.

Eben has become a household name in Nigerian gospel music through his passionate voice, consistent output, and ministry-minded approach. His legacy continues to grow through impactful songs and events that uplift hearts worldwide.
