Nigerian stars Lojay and Sarz have achieved another major international milestone. Their smash hit Monalisa, featuring American singer Chris Brown, has officially been certified Gold in the United States.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) confirmed the certification on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, after the record surpassed 500,000 units in combined sales and streams across the country.

Originally released in 2021 as part of Lojay’s breakout EP LV N ATTN, the Sarz-produced single first became a fan favorite across Africa. The remix featuring Chris Brown also took the song to global heights, turning Monalisa into a viral success that dominated charts, radio, and streaming platforms worldwide.

For both artists, this latest recognition adds to their growing list of achievements. It highlights their status as leaders in the Afrobeats movement, pushing the sound to new audiences across the globe.

This isn’t their first major certification either. Earlier this year, Lojay and Chris Brown’s collaboration “Sensational” earned Platinum status in the U.S. after surpassing one million units in sales and streams.

The Monalisa remix perfectly captures Afrobeats’ cross-genre magic — Lojay’s smooth vocals, Sarz’s signature production, and Chris Brown’s soulful R&B blend into a sound that connects Lagos to Los Angeles.

As Afrobeats continues to make waves worldwide, Monalisa’s Gold certification serves as another proud moment for Nigerian music and its ever-growing influence on the global stage.
