Early Life
Born on August 17, 1985, in Cotonou, Benin Republic, Angela is the third of five children. She hails from Ishiagu in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. She pursued Theatre Arts at the University of Lagos and studied Public Administration at Lagos State University. Her journey into the limelight began after ten years of modeling, particularly for a soap brand.
Career
Angela Okorie made her film debut in Sincerity (2009), alongside notable names like Yemi Blaq and Nonso Diobi. She gained widespread recognition with her performance in Holy Serpent, which marked a turning point in her career. By 2014, she had become one of the most sought-after actresses in Nollywood.
In 2015, Angela won the City People Entertainment Award for Best Supporting Actress in an English film. Beyond acting, she has expressed a strong passion for music. She has written several songs and aims to release a gospel album, blending her creative talents across film and music.
Despite industry pressures, Angela maintains strong personal values, openly rejecting roles that conflict with her cultural and moral beliefs. She draws inspiration from icons like Genevieve Nnaji and aims to follow in their footsteps by producing her own films in the future.
