He is the youngest of six children, comprising four boys and two girls, and was raised primarily by his mother and elder sister, as his father was not a prominent presence during his upbringing. He is best known for his long-running comedy series featuring teenage actress Uchechi Treasure Okonkwo, popularly known as Adakirikiri, whom he played opposite as her on-screen father figure, a pairing that became widely popular online despite the two performers not being related.

Beyond his collaboration with Adakirikiri, Chief Imo has built his own comedic brand around Igbo cultural humour, becoming one of the more recognisable comedic actors within the Igbo-speaking Nollywood scene.
