Early Life
Efa Iwara was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, to a linguistics professor father and a librarian mother. He is originally from Ugep in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Efa attended Staff School, Ibadan for primary education and later enrolled at the International School, Barth Road, Ibadan for his secondary education. He earned a bachelorโs degree in Geography from the University of Ibadan.
Career
Efa Iwara began his entertainment career in 2006 as a musician with the music group X-Factor, which included DJ Clem, Bolaji, Jide, and Boye. After the group disbanded, he released his solo debut EP titled Waka EP in 2011 and followed up with several singles, including โFall in Loveโ featuring Plantashun Boiz in 2014.
Efa also ventured into acting with a debut appearance in an episode of Tinsel in 2011 but remained focused on music. In 2013, he featured in the first season of MTV Shuga Naija, and by 2016, he began focusing more on acting, starting with Life 101 on Ebonylife TV.
However, Since then, he has built a strong acting portfolio, starring in series such as Ajoche, Rumor Has It, and The Men’s Club. His film also credits include Isoken, Seven, and the remake Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story. His compelling role in Seven earned him an AMVCA nomination, marking a major milestone in his acting career.
