Eucharia Anunobi is a Nigerian actress, producer, and ordained pastor whose transition from one of 1990s Nollywood’s most talked-about screen presences to a life of ministry has made her one of the industry’s most striking personal reinvention stories.

Born on May 25, 1965, in Owerri, Imo State, she earned a national diploma in Mass Communication from the Institute of Management Technology in Enugu before completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Anunobi made her Nollywood debut in 1992 as a mysterious goddess in Okechukwu Ogunjiofor’s Nneka the Pretty Serpent, one of the films that helped define the industry’s earliest home-video era.

Her defining breakthrough came with 1994’s Glamour Girls, in which she played Anita, and the 1996 sequel Glamour Girls II, roles that established her as a bold, boundary-pushing screen presence and made her a household name. Over the following decade, Anunobi appeared in more than 90 films, including Letters to a Stranger and Abuja Connection, earning a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

In 2012, Anunobi announced her ordination as a pastor at a Lagos-based Pentecostal church, describing the shift as a divine calling shaped by personal trials, and has since balanced a sporadic acting presence, including roles in the 2019 political thriller Code Wilo and 2022’s Man of God, with an active ministry and motivational speaking career.
