Early Life

Adeyela Adebola, known professionally as Lizzy Jay or Omo Ibadan, was born on 18 September 1995 in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. She had a lively, playful upbringing, though her family was not wealthy. As a child she was affectionately nicknamed “Sibi Onike” for her lack of enthusiasm for school and her unusual attachment to plastic spoons, a quirky detail that has become part of her public story.

Career

Lizzy Jay’s path to fame began when she created a comedy series called “Omo Ibadan Cosin Senta” and began sharing it online, a series that quickly became popular on social media and gave her the enduring stage name “Omo Ibadan.” That online success translated into a full Nollywood career, and she has since built a wide-ranging filmography including ‘Dubara’ (2021), ‘The Order of Things’ (2022), ‘Ajosepo’ (2024) and ‘Asiri Ade’ (2024).
