Early Life

Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, professionally known as Nasboi, was born on 13 March 1992 in Odo Otin Local Government Area, Osun State, Nigeria, though he was raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He attended Bright International Nursery and Shalom International Nursery and Primary School for his early education, before proceeding to Istan Comprehensive High School and Ogba Comprehensive High School. He went on to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Career

Nasboi originally aspired to be a musician before pivoting to comedy, posting short skits on Instagram that showcased a range of characters. He gained widespread recognition for his uncanny impersonation of Afrobeats star Davido, a viral bit that earned him the enduring nickname “Low Budget OBO.” He also became known for playing a character depicting the everyday struggles of a typical Igbo man, complete with a signature costume of a blue suit, yellow inner shirt, funny beard and bicycle cap.

Beyond comedy and skit-making, Nasboi has built a music career, releasing singles including “Lover Boy” and “Umbrella,” the latter featuring Afrobeats star Wande Coal, both released in 2023. He also featured on the track “Take Control” by Knevile. He has since ventured into Nollywood film roles, extending his presence from comedy skits into wider entertainment work.

Personal Life

Nasboi is Yoruba by tribe and was raised in a Christian household. He has continued to share personal moments with fans, including recent heartwarming encounters and stories from his day-to-day life on social media.
