Early Life

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Stephanie Coker moved to North London, UK, when she was just a year old. She attended St Mary’s Church of England Primary School, which she remembered as a small institution with a strong emphasis on Christian values. She later earned a degree in Media and Communications from Brunel University. During her time at Brunel, she interned with major media platforms such as MTV, Channel Four, and Media Moguls PR, building a strong foundation in the industry.

Career

In 2010, Stephanie won the MTV Freederm Presenter Competition, which featured her in a television advertisement. That same year, OHTV (UK) commissioned her to produce a documentary titled Christmas in Lagos, focusing on the experiences of young Nigerians.

In 2011, she joined Media Trust’s TV diversity programme London 360, where she trained and presented for the UK’s Community Channel. That same year, she returned to Nigeria and began her broadcasting career as the host of Street Request on MTV Base Africa.

Stephanie expanded her portfolio by working on a variety of shows and platforms including the Cool FM Midday Oasis Show, the MTV Big Friday Show with Basketmouth, and recurring roles on Tinsel and other entertainment projects.

In 2013, she also co-hosted the Guinness Colourful World of More concert alongside Bovi and Pearl, stepping in for the originally slated host, Bow Wow. She appeared on the cover of Exquisite Magazine’s Love Edition in 2015, reinforcing her growing influence in media and fashion.

In 2016, Stephanie also took on the role of host for The Voice Nigeria, further establishing her as a key media figure. In 2021, she hosted the inaugural edition of De9ja Spirit Talent Hunt, continuing her commitment to showcasing Nigerian talent.

On December 6, 2013, Baileys Nigeria named Stephanie Coker and Veronica Ebie-Odeka as hosts of the new lifestyle radio program Baileys Boutique.
