Early Life

Toosweet Annan was born on 25 August 1985 in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, to a Ghanaian father and a Nigerian mother from Auchi, Edo State. He is the eldest of four siblings and was raised largely by his Nigerian mother, growing up immersed in both Ghanaian and Nigerian cultures. He attended Nungua Senior High School in Ghana, where he developed a passion for visual arts, before proceeding to Ghanatta College of Arts in Accra to study Fine Arts.

Career

Toosweet Annan made his acting debut in 2010 in the drama film ‘The Supremo,’ playing a character named “Too Sweet.” He gained wider recognition in 2014 with a role in ‘Happy Death Day,’ before his breakthrough came in 2019 with his portrayal of “Theon” in ‘P over D,’ a role that significantly raised his profile across both Ghallywood and Nollywood. He has since built a filmography of nearly 50 acting credits, including ‘Black Men Rock’ (2018), ‘Rekindle’ (2019), ‘Best Man’ (2015), ‘Brown Sugar’ (2018), ‘Broken But Whole’ (2021), ‘Single & Searching’ (2023) and, more recently, ‘This Very Christmas’ (2024) alongside Patience Ozokwor.

Known for his romantic leading-man roles, Toosweet has worked alongside major Nollywood names including Ruth Kadiri and Sonia Uche. Beyond acting, he is a fashion designer, model and entrepreneur, and owns the popular Accra nightspot Briefcase Pub. His performances have earned him multiple award wins and nominations, including Best Actor honours in Ghana.

Personal Life

Toosweet Annan married Ms Flava in a star-studded ceremony in Accra, Ghana, in 2023. The couple are proud parents to two daughters, Novanna and Adriel.

With a career spanning acting, fashion and business across both Ghana and Nigeria, Toosweet Annan remains one of West Africa’s most recognisable cross-border entertainment figures.
