Early Life
Uchechi Treasure Okonkwo was born on 12 October in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, into a family with a strong creative background. Her father, Okonkwo Chijioke Junior, is a film director who first discovered her talent while she was sharing gospel music online as a young child. She began her education at Merit International Nursery and Primary School in Owerri before her family relocated to Enugu, where she completed her secondary education at Prime College.
Career
Uchechi Treasure Okonkwo began appearing online at a very young age, initially known under the nickname “Adult Baby” for her precocious, articulate presence in videos. Her breakthrough came through a comedy series alongside veteran Nollywood comedian Anokwute Longinus, popularly known as Chief Imo, in which she played his on-screen daughter, a role that gave her the stage name “Adakirikiri,” which has since become synonymous with her public identity.
She has since built a wide-ranging filmography, including ‘The Good Doctor,’ ‘Cupid’s Arrow,’ ‘Premonition,’ ‘Tales of Nmas,’ ‘April,’ ‘A Piece of Me’ and ‘Ahanna,’ the latter alongside actor Zulu Adigwe. Beyond acting, Uchechi is also a gospel singer, releasing songs including “Okeosisi,” which surpassed two million views on YouTube, alongside “One With God,” “Obiliwo” and “Chukwu Onye Obioma.” Her YouTube channel, AdaKirikiriTv, has grown to more than 1.5 million subscribers and over 210 million views, reflecting her standing as one of Nigeria’s most prominent teen entertainers.
Education and Recognition
Alongside her entertainment career, Uchechi has continued her education, completing her secondary schooling in Enugu State. She has spoken in interviews about balancing school commitments with her fast-growing career, describing her rise in the industry as happening faster than she had expected.
With a career spanning acting, gospel music and content creation, Uchechi Treasure Okonkwo remains one of the most recognisable young talents currently working across Nigeria’s film and digital entertainment spaces.
