Early Life
Aloma Isaac Junior, professionally known as Zicsaloma, was born on 7 November 1991 in Kaduna State, Nigeria, though he originally hails from Abia State in southeastern Nigeria. He went on to study at Abia State University, laying the foundation for a career that would eventually blend performance, writing and music.
Career
Before rising to fame as a comedian, Zicsaloma was a contestant on The Voice Nigeria, an early indication of his musical ambitions. He went on to become one of Nigeria’s most recognisable online comedians from 2017 onward, rising to prominence for comedic videos he posts primarily to TikTok. His comedy is distinguished by his portrayal of several distinctive female characters, including Sister Ekwi, a deeply religious woman with a fondness for chilled Coca-Cola who cannot resist minding other people’s business; Mama Amazing Grace, a short-tempered store owner; and Mama Desperate, a character built around comic exaggeration of desperation for a child.
Notably, Zicsaloma creates and edits the vast majority of his skits himself, a hands-on approach that has helped him maintain a consistent, recognisable comedic style across his content. Beyond comedy, he continues to work as a writer and singer, extending his creative range across multiple disciplines.
Personal Life
Zicsaloma has spoken candidly in interviews about his personal financial decisions, including describing the purchase of a Range Rover as one of his worst financial mistakes, a moment of honesty that resonated with fans online.
With a career built on distinctive character comedy and self-produced content, Zicsaloma remains one of Nigeria’s most creative and hands-on digital entertainers.
