Early Life
Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, professionally known as Kcee, was born on April 18, 1979, and hails from Amaputu in Uli, Ihiala LGA, Anambra State. Though raised in Ajegunle, Lagos, a city known for birthing music talents, Kcee remained connected to his Igbo heritage.

Career
Kcee started his career in 1999 by teaming up with Precious John (Presh) to form the group KC Presh. Their big break came after winning the Star Quest talent show in 2002. The duo enjoyed over a decade of moderate success before parting ways in 2011 to pursue solo careers.
Kcee’s solo journey reached new heights in 2013 with the release of “Limpopo,” a chart-topping anthem that turned him into a household name. The success led to several awards and cemented his place in the Afrobeats scene. He followed up with more hit songs like “Pullover” featuring Wizkid and “Fine Face,” both of which became club staples.
In 2020, Kcee dropped “Sweet Mary J,” and in June 2023, he released “Ojapiano,” a genre-bending fusion of traditional Igbo Ọjà music and Amapiano, showcasing his versatility. He signed a major endorsement deal with MTN in 2013 and currently records under Five Star Music.
Kcee continues to shape the sound of modern Nigerian music, blending tradition with innovation. His career reflects resilience, talent, and a unique cultural voice.
