Kunle Afolayan is used to achieving big things. Earlier this year in April, he opened the KAP Film Village and Resort in Oyo State. The huge place covers over 60 acres of land in Igbojaiye, Itesiwaju Local Government Area. It was built as a centre for film production, cultural tourism, and training.
In 2022, Kunle was invited to join the Oscars voting academy. This happened a year after his movie was rejected. He thanked God for the new opportunity to serve in the global film community. That same year, the Nigerian government honoured him with the Officer of the Order of Nigeria (OON) award for his contributions to the country’s movie industry.
Earlier this year, Kunle spoke about how many Nigerians complain about not having jobs but still fail to work well when they finally get one. According to him, it is sad to see such incompetence in the country.
Having a cinema named after him shows how respected Kunle Afolayan is in Nollywood. Fans are proud of how he keeps growing and leaving a strong mark in the industry.
