Fuji music star King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, has come under public scrutiny following a viral video showing him striking an aide on stage. The footage, captured during a recent live performance, shows the veteran musician delivering a slap to a man identified as a member of his band.
The incident occurred while KWAM 1 was performing in a traditional blue agbada. In the video, he appears visibly upset with the aide over an undisclosed issue. He briefly exchanges words with the man before continuing his performance.
This is not the first time the singer has been linked to a similar controversy. In 2020, he was filmed striking a professional photographer at an event in Lagos. That incident happened during a social gathering for businessman Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, popularly known as IBD Dende.
The latest footage also emerges shortly after KWAM 1’s public reconciliation with his former drummer, Ayankunle Ayanlowo. Ayanlowo had previously accused the singer of mistreating band members, claiming they were treated unfairly despite years of service.
“They were treated like slaves, and after over 30 years with the group, he achieved nothing,” Ayanlowo alleged.
He also claimed that the musician once ordered him out of a car while he was seeking medical attention.
“He ordered me out of the car while I was sick and needed treatment,” he added.
As of now, neither KWAM 1 nor his management has issued an official statement regarding the viral clip. The identity of the aide involved and the exact details of the exchange remain unconfirmed.
