Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has publicly condemned a violent bullying incident at Igbinedion Secondary School in Edo State that recently went viral online.
The disturbing video circulated widely across X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, showing two male students physically assaulting a peer. In the footage, the victim is dragged by his school uniform and repeatedly stomped on the chest and head while on the ground. A third student was seen recording the attack, though they were heard verbally asking the aggressors to stop.
Reacting to the footage on his official X account, Davido expressed revulsion at the students’ actions.
“Fuckin animals… so disgusting.”
Following the public outrage, the school took immediate disciplinary measures. Authorities confirmed the expulsion of the two primary aggressors while the student responsible for filming the incident was suspended.
The Edo State Police Command has also intervened. Police spokesperson Eno Ikioyedem confirmed that Commissioner of Police Monday Agbonika directed a Divisional Police Officer to conduct a thorough investigation. The Command emphasized that it “strongly condemns acts of bullying, violence, or intimidation among students” and stated that those found guilty would face the full weight of the law.
The incident has reignited national conversations about student safety and the prevalence of bullying in Nigerian private boarding schools.
