Wunmi Mosaku, born Oluwunmi Olapeju Mosaku in Zaria, Nigeria in July 1986, is a Nigerian and British actress who holds citizenship in both countries and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She began building her profile in British television with early roles in the BBC miniseries Moses Jones and the long-running ITV series Vera.
Mosaku’s breakthrough into major international recognition came with her performance in HBO’s Lovecraft Country, which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series in 2021. She went on to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Hunter B-15 in the Disney+ series Loki, further raising her profile among global streaming audiences.
Most recently, Mosaku starred in This Is How It Goes, an Apple feature filmed and set in Ghana, alongside Idris Elba and Charlie Cox, part of Elba’s broader push to build sustained film production ties across West Africa. Her involvement places her among a small group of Nigerian-heritage actresses working directly within Elba’s growing African production ecosystem, rather than solely within UK or US-based projects.
