Ngulde Draws Attention With Hausa Single ‘Farar Kafa’

Ngulde has held a place on Spotify’s Top Hausa 100 playlist with “Farar Kafa,” released on May 20 and still in rotation several months on.

Staying power of that kind is the more telling signal in Arewa music, where a record can circulate for months on the wedding and event circuit long after its release week has passed.

The Arewa scene has leaned harder into streaming through 2026, with newer acts building audiences on playlists rather than through the Kannywood soundtrack route that carried earlier generations.

Ngulde joins a cohort of artists who have found footing on the playlist this year, alongside DJ AB and Boyskido.
