Reality TV star and media personality Adekunle Olopade confirmed that the Lagos State Police Command has identified and disciplined the officers who allegedly assaulted him. He shared the update on social media, expressing relief and gratitude for the authorities’ swift action.
Earlier, Adekunle explained that police officers unjustly harassed him while he was driving his mother’s car at night. Consequently, he filed a complaint with the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) of the Lagos Police Command, which immediately launched an investigation.
In his statement, Adekunle commended the CRU for responding swiftly and ACP Oluyemisi Ojo, who oversees Area J Command, Elemoro, Ibeju-Lekki, for her professionalism and dedication. “I just left the Elemoro Police Station. Thanks to ACP Oluyemisi Ojo’s efforts, the officers were found, and disciplinary action has been taken. Justice has been served,” he said.
Furthermore, Adekunle described the outcome as a huge relief, emphasizing that it restores some public confidence in the police system. He also encouraged Nigerians not to remain silent when confronted with harassment or abuse by law enforcement officers. “Document the incidents and take action. The Lagos State Complaint Response Unit works to protect citizens while removing corrupt officers from the system,” he urged.
