Lalisa Manobal, popularly known as Lisa of Blackpink, has been cast as the lead in a new romantic comedy for Netflix. The streaming platform officially announced the project on February 6. The film is described as a modern feature inspired by the 1999 classic Notting Hill.
This marks Lisa’s first leading role in a feature-length film. It follows her recent acting debut in the third season of HBO’s The White Lotus. The project reunites her with executive producer David Bernad, who also worked on The White Lotus. The screenplay is being written by Katie Silberman, known for hit romantic comedies Booksmart and Set It Up.
Netflix confirmed the casting in an official post on X (formerly Twitter).

According to reports, the idea for the film was developed during Lisa’s time on the set of The White Lotus. David Bernad spoke about the collaboration and shared his excitement about working with her again.
“Working with Lisa on The White Lotus was such a transformative experience that we both knew we wanted to find something else to do together,” he said.
Lisa will also serve as an executive producer on the film through her company, LLOUD Co. However, specific details about the film’s title, plot, cast, and release date have not yet been revealed.
The project is part of a busy year for the global star. Lisa is also set to appear in the Extraction spin-off action film TYGO. In addition, Blackpink is expected to release a new mini-album titled Deadline in the coming weeks, featuring tracks such as “JUMP” and “GO.”
