Chioma Goodhair has stirred up conversation online after sharing her opinion about Nigerian performers following the 2025 Headies Awards. The popular entrepreneur and fashion influencer took to Snapchat to praise Tanzanian singer Juma Jux for his electrifying performance. However, she also called out what she described as a lack of effort from some Nigerian artists.

Chioma, who attended the award ceremony, didn’t hold back her thoughts. Sharing pictures and videos from the event, she highlighted Juma Jux’s stage energy and compared it to what she called “lazy and lackluster” efforts from several Nigerian acts. She wrote, “I wish Nigerian performers would start putting more effort into their performances like Juma did. I find a lot of their performances lazy and lackluster. It lacks rehearsal & substance. And it’s unfair considering the love their fans show. Don’t get me wrong. Not all of them are bad. The good ones are very very good, but trust me, the majority are terrible and have no business on stage.”
Her post quickly made rounds on social media, with fans. And of course, in the spirit of social media, same fans, had things to say. Some of the comments included:
“I enjoyed his performance,”
and
“Applaud him without dragging other people into it.”
Others felt Chioma’s comment was a bit too much. One user wrote,
“Chioma allow the couple to breathe… even her mama no choke them like this… I know you matchmake them and you’re proud of the achievements but please rest in Jesus name… Juma has suffered bashing from his people no con let Nigeria join their own… it’s too early for all this drama…”
Another added,
“Ms Chioma Mkambala please 🙏 rest in God’s name! You can hype someone without dragging others down mbok.”
Juma Jux, who won the award for Best East African Artist, has been gaining popularity in Nigeria. Apart from his music, his relationship with Nigerian actress Priscilla Ojo has kept him in the spotlight. Interestingly, Chioma Goodhair is said to have played matchmaker for the couple, introducing them before their relationship began.
