Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan, also known as Madrina, is back in the news after fans created a GoFundMe campaign to support her. This happened when an old video of her crying resurfaced online, making people worry about her wellbeing.
The video, recorded over a year ago during an Instagram Live, showed Cynthia emotional as she said, “I am not going to lie, all I need right now is prayers. I need them to pray for me. I am not going to say anybody should come and give me money. If you give me money, cool stuff.”
After the video started trending again, a fan created a GoFundMe page to help her. Cynthia shared a screenshot of the page on Instagram, thanking the fan. Later, she posted a new video to clear the air. She explained the video was old and that she is now in a better place.
She said, “Good morning, everyone. God bless you all. There is a video of me making rounds on social media, so I just want to address that. I will like to tell everyone that that video is over a year. I will like to let everyone know that I am well. Thank you for your concern.”
Cynthia Morgan added she is still deciding whether to allow the GoFundMe to go public. She also revealed she has moved on from music due to her past experiences. Her focus now is real estate and ministry work.
Although she did not rule out music completely, she said if she returns, it will only be for fun. Cynthia rose to fame with hits like “German Juice” and “Don’t Break My Heart.” In 2020, she took her former label boss Jude Okoye to court, claiming she never received royalties for her songs.
