The father of late singer Mohbad, Joseph Aloba, is not giving up on getting justice for his son. He has now taken the case to the Court of Appeal in Lagos. This happened after the State High Court dismissed his request to cancel the legal advice that freed Naira Marley and Sam Larry from allegations about Mohbad’s death.

Last week, the court said that the Attorney General has full power to decide who should be prosecuted, and no one can question that. But Aloba does not agree. In his appeal, filed by his lawyer Wahab Shittu (SAN), he said the Attorney General must always act in the public’s best interest and ensure justice is done.

Aloba believes it was wrong to free the suspects while the coroner’s investigation is still going on. He feels it is unfair to release people linked to Mohbad’s death before the final report is out. He wants the Court of Appeal to cancel the legal advice that freed them.

Earlier, Justice Taiwo Olatokun said the Attorney General’s decision was valid and cannot be questioned. She explained that those freed were only discharged, not acquitted. This means if new evidence comes up, they can still be charged.

Still, Aloba is determined to keep fighting for his son. He thinks important suspects have been released without proper investigation. He is asking the court to reverse the decision.

The Court of Appeal has not yet fixed a date to hear the case. Many fans of the singer Mohbad, are watching closely. They hope his family will get the answers and justice they deserve for his sudden death.
