Early Life
Efeilomo Michelle Irele, popularly known as Efe Irele, was born on September 4, 1990, in Lagos, Nigeria. Though she hails from Edo State, she spent her formative years in Lagos. Efe attended Corona Primary School and Queen’s College, Yaba, for her early education. She holds a degree in Sociology from Bowen University and a masterโs degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Chester, UK.
Career
Efe began her career as a model and featured in popular Nigerian music videos, including Burna Boyโs Like to Party and Adekunle Goldโs Sade. She transitioned to acting with a breakout role in the 2018 series Lagos Real Fake Life, portraying a modern Nigerian woman facing societal pressures. Since then, she has starred in several Nollywood productions such as Hey You, Two Weeks in Lagos, Farmerโs Bride, and My Mother Is a Witch.
Beyond acting, Efe has made her mark as a film producer. With over 15 films produced, she continues to shape the industry behind the scenes. Her 2025 psychological drama My Mother Is a Witch, where she also stars alongside Mercy Aigbe, highlights her depth and creative vision. Her other producer credits include As He Was Written, Loving the Accused, and Secrets of the Gods.
In 2018, Efe launched the Efe Irele Autism Foundation to support children with autism. Her advocacy continues to raise awareness and provide resources for neurodiverse children across Nigeria.
She earned accolades at the 2018 City People Entertainment Awards, winning Best Upcoming Actress and Best New Actress (English).
