Early Life
Joseph Benjamin was born to a Kogi State father and an Anambra State mother. He began his education in Benue State and completed his secondary school education in Lagos State. In 2016, he relocated to the United States, where he currently lives. He is a devout born-again Christian who openly shares his faith and values.
Career
Joseph’s journey in entertainment began at the age of 12 when he appeared on the Nigerian Television Authority program Tales by Moonlight. His first film role came in Crossroads in 1995. He gained popularity through roles in hit TV series such as Edge of Paradise and Super Story.
He achieved widespread acclaim in the early 2010s with lead roles in romantic dramas like Kiss and Tell, Tango with Me, and Married but Living Single, the latter earning him Best Lead Actor at the Best of Nollywood Awards in 2012. He further showcased his range in the crime thriller Murder at Prime Suites, breaking away from his romantic hero persona.
In addition to acting, Joseph Benjamin co-hosted MTN Project Fame from 2009 to 2016 and has been featured in numerous commercials.
Joseph began his music career professionally in 2012 and has focused on gospel and inspirational music. His notable singles include Joy (2016) and I Pour My Love (2020). He continues to pursue music actively and plans to release more projects.
