Nollywood filmmaker and media personality Stanley Ontop has reacted to a legal petition filed against him by actor Frederick Leonard, setting the stage for a courtroom confrontation.
The dispute escalated after Leonard submitted a formal petition to the Delta State Police Command through his lawyers. The actor accused Ontop of engaging in “persistent defamation,” claiming the filmmaker had targeted his reputation without provocation for over two years. According to Leonard, these actions have caused damage to both his professional image and financial interests.
Responding via his Instagram page, Stanley Ontop showed little concern about the police involvement and expressed his readiness to defend himself legally.
“See y’all in court. I’m waiting for the police invitation. Ontop no small.”
The tension between both parties reportedly dates back to 2025, when Ontop allegedly accused Leonard of mistreating crew members on a film set. In the petition, Leonard is seeking a public retraction, a formal apology, and police intervention to halt further “unfounded allegations.”
Ontop, however, has maintained his stance and hinted at possible counter-legal action. He challenged Leonard to substantiate his claims and insisted that he would not be intimidated by the petition.
