Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has issued a stern warning to a TikTok impersonator, promising that the suspect will face prosecution and jail time for defrauding her followers.
In a video broadcast on Wednesday, January 21, Dikeh revealed that a female impersonator has been posing as her on the social media platform. Unlike fan accounts, the individual allegedly reposts Dikeh’s personal content to gain credibility before scamming unsuspecting victims.
“To the girl who is impersonating me on TikTok,
collecting money from people, scamming people
and also scamming me because you are taking my contents
and posting on your TikTok page not as a fanpage,
but posing to be me,”
Dikeh stated.
Tonto Dikeh also confirmed that law enforcement agencies are investigating and tracking the suspect’s digital activity.
“I know my impersonator is a girl because we have been trailing you,
the police are on you,”
she said.
“I just want to tell you that when I catch you,
nobody is going to save you. Only Jesus will save you.
Because I’m not the kind of person that social media would make me back down.
You will definitely go to jail.”
The incident underscores a growing trend of celebrity identity theft on short-form video platforms, where scammers exploit popular actors to defraud fans. Dikeh’s legal team is collaborating with authorities to finalize the tracking process.
The actress urged her fans to remain vigilant, verify official handles, and avoid providing money or personal information to accounts claiming to represent her.
