Wizkid and Asake have joined forces on “Jogodo,” the lead single off their joint EP Real, Vol. 1, released January 16, 2026 ahead of the EP’s full release a week later.
Produced by Magicsticks, “Jogodo” blends Afrobeats with percussion and brass elements, sung primarily in Nigerian Pidgin and centred on the theme of intoxication and letting loose.
The track has since become one of Wizkid’s biggest 2026 records, amassing over 70 million streams on Spotify and anchoring the wider Real, Vol. 1 project, released via Starboy Entertainment, Giran Republic, and EMPIRE.
Critics have praised the pairing, with OkayAfrica describing the record as “a conversation between two friends assured of their talents,” noting how it taps into amapiano’s percussive drive to create a groove that feels destined to inform what comes next in Afrobeats.

The pairing of two of Afrobeats’ most consistent hitmakers has made Real, Vol. 1 one of the most anticipated collaborative projects of the year, with “Jogodo” leading the charge as its breakout single.
Jogodo by Wizkid and Asake is available on all streaming platforms.
