Tems is taking her impact beyond music. The Nigerian singer has launched The Leading Vibe Initiative to help young women enter and grow in the music industry. This new program will take place in Lagos on August 8 and 9.
The two-day seminar will welcome between 15 and 20 women. They will learn about songwriting, music production, and the business side of music. There will be studio sessions, meet and greets with industry experts, and panel discussions to guide them.
Speaking about the program, Tems said, “My goal with the Leading Vibe Initiative is to help discover and support talented young women who have the potential to redefine the industry. By providing access, tools and opportunity, we’re creating space for them to find their voices, step into their power and shape the future of music across the continent and globally.”
Participants will also get production software and other helpful resources. The names of mentors and guest speakers will be announced soon. Tems plans to expand this initiative to other African cities in the future to reach more women.
She has partnered with Native Instruments for the program. The company will provide software and tools. Tems will also join their global artist board, which includes top names like Alicia Keys and Noah “40” Shebib.
