It was a night filled with glamour, pride, and celebration as top Nollywood stars and notable Nigerians were honored at the 2025 Nigeria’s Pride Awards in Abuja. The prestigious event brought together key stakeholders from entertainment, leadership, governance, entrepreneurship, and humanitarian service. It focused on recognizing individuals who have shown true patriotism, selfless service, and strong leadership.
General Paul Boroh (Rtd), former Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, chaired the ceremony. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, delivered the keynote address. Dr. Sarah Jibrin, former Presidential Adviser on Ethics and Moral Values, attended the event as Mother of the Day. Their presence gave the night a deeper sense of purpose and national pride.
Nollywood stars took center stage with several big wins. Gloria Okafor was named Best Movie Producer of the Year. Tonto Dikeh received both the Help of the Needy Award and a Special Recognition for Humanitarian Service. Empress Njamah earned the Lifetime Nigerian Actress of the Decade award, while Sandra Okunzuwa won Best Actress of the Year. Dr. Emeka Rollas, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), was recognized as the Most Impactful Entertainment Personality of the Year. In addition, AGN Vice President Abubakar Sanusi Yakubu received the Outstanding Leadership Award.
Dr. Queen Blessing Ebigieson won Most Outstanding Movie Producer of the Decade, and Emeka Duru received Most Impactful Movie Personality of the Year. Emeka Okoye and Etinosa Idemudia also won Best Actor and Best Actress in Comedy, showing Nollywood’s talent.
Outside Nollywood, honorees included Governor Francis Nwifuru, Gen. Christopher Musa, Festus Keyamo, Senator Ireti Kingibe, and Rinsola Abiola.
