Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has revealed that out of her many romantic experiences, she has only ever had one genuinely positive relationship, which ended tragically with the death of her partner.

In an interview with media personality Korty EO on Sunday, January 18, the 45-year-old singer described most of her past relationships as disappointing.

“There is hardly any relationship I would look back at and see anything positive.
They are all d*cks!”
Savage told Korty.
“Actually, there is one, but he passed away.
May his soul rest in peace.
He was incredible.”

While she did not name the individual, fans and industry observers widely speculate she referred to the late Habeeb Uthman, popularly known as Obama DMW, who passed away in June 2021 from suspected heart failure. Savage had previously described him as her “black president” and “the bravest person” she had ever met.

Tiwa Savage also discussed how her personal heartbreaks have shaped her parenting of her 10-year-old son, Jamil Balogun.

“I always tell him, your mum suffered oo,
make sure you treat any girl like a queen,” she shared.
“It is very important for me to raise him as a good man.
He is going to make mistakes, he is not perfect.
But at the core of him, I want him to be kind.”

Previously married to music executive Tunji “Tee Billz” Balogun from 2013 until their 2018 divorce, Savage has since prioritized emotional safety and personal peace over public validation.

The interview offers rare insight into the singer’s personal life, highlighting her approach to love, loss, and parenting while maintaining her career in the music industry.
