Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has been appointed as the Imo State Director of the City Boy Movement (CBM), a political support group backing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The appointment comes shortly after the nightlife entrepreneur declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives in 2027 under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In its official announcement, the City Boy Movement praised Okechukwu’s influence and leadership, describing him as:
“a symbol of dedication, strategic leadership, and unwavering commitment to the growth of the movement.”
The group added that he:
“brings experience, influence, and a people-centred approach to mobilising support, strengthening party structures, and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Speaking on his political transition, Okechukwu made his loyalty clear, stating:
“I’m with Tinubu.”
He further explained his approach to politics, saying:
“I’m not an activist, I’m a businessman.”
During a heated exchange with social media commentator Isaac Fayose, the socialite defended his stance, remarking:
“To comot Asiwaju is impossible,”
and warning that opposing the president would leave the South-East:
“on the bench for another four years.”
Addressing his previous political alliances, Okechukwu revealed:
“I worked for Obi last election even as special adviser to an APC governor,”
but stressed that his current alignment reflects political realities and the need to protect his business interests. He also noted that his:
“entire net worth”
and the livelihoods of his employees depend on stable political engagement.
As Imo State Director, Cubana Chief Priest will lead grassroots mobilisation efforts aimed at strengthening party structures and promoting sustained political participation. The CBM concluded that under his leadership, the movement would move forward:
“stronger, focused, and united.”
