Kaduna-born rapper Kheengz has released a new single titled “Jallabiya,” featuring pioneering Northern Nigerian rap star Ice Prince, bringing together two generations of Arewa hip-hop on one record.
The collaboration pairs Kheengz’s YFK Entertainment sound, known for tackling Northern Nigerian stereotypes head-on, with Ice Prince’s veteran presence as one of the first Northern rappers to break into the national mainstream with “Oleku” years ago.
“Jallabiya” follows Kheengz’s continued output since his breakout album “Voice of Arewa,” and the pairing with Ice Prince positions the track as both a celebration of Northern identity and a passing of the torch between eras of Arewa rap.
