Udomboso John Saviours

John Saviours Udomboso, professionally known as Young Jonn, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer born on February 16, 1995, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He hails from Akwa Ibom State and began his musical journey at an early age, forming a group called AVG with his brothers. Young Jonn gained prominence for producing chart-topping tracks such as Olamide’s “Story For The Gods” and “Bobo.” In 2022, he transitioned into a recording artist and signed with Chocolate City Music, releasing hit singles like “Dada” and its remix featuring Davido. His innovative approach to Afro-pop and Afrobeats has solidified his reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading music producers and artists.

Michael Chigozie Alagwu

Tempoe is a Nigerian record producer, DJ, singer, and songwriter, born in Lagos, Nigeria. He is widely recognized for the distinctive tag “MÄD!” that marks the beginning or end of all his music productions.

Tempoe gained international acclaim for his production work on CKay’s breakout Afrobeat track, “Love Nwantiti,” which garnered global recognition.

His impressive portfolio includes working with notable artists such as Omah Lay, Joeboy, CKay, Jason Derulo, and Victony. Currently, Tempoe is signed to Panda Entertainment.

Career


Before entering the music scene, Tempoe worked as a statistician and web developer in Nigeria’s growing tech industry.

His love for music led him to self-learn music production using the Fruity Loops app, initially producing songs for free.

Tempoe big break came after a fortuitous meeting with CKay, resulting in Tempoe producing CKay’s debut single “Nkechi Turnup” in 2016.

Following that success, he went on to produce tracks such as “Container” for CKay and “Play” for Blaqbonez, both signed to Chocolate City. To hone his craft, Tempoe enrolled in Sarz’s Production Academy.

In 2019, Tempoe collaborated with CKay on the hugely successful afro-fusion track, “Love Nwantiti,” which has been certified platinum in France and the UK, double platinum in the United States and the Netherlands.

Tempoe also produced Omah Lay’s hit single “Godly” in November 2020, which accumulated over 100 million streams worldwide and topped the charts in Ghana and Kenya.

Additionally, he produced “Door” for Joeboy’s debut album Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic and “Alcohol,” which amassed 50 million streams in just four weeks.

In 2022, He produced and performed in “Soweto,” the lead single from Victony’s Outlaw EP, marking his debut as a performing artist.

The song’s official video, released in October 2022, quickly garnered over 8 million views on YouTube. “Soweto” was also featured at number 15 on Rolling Stone’s Top 40 Afropop Songs of 2022.

Later that year, Tempoe signed a publishing deal with American independent record group APG, which led to him co-writing and producing “Ayo Girl” by Robinson and Jason Derulo, featuring Nigerian Afrobeat artist Rema.

Awards and Recognition


Tempoe received a nomination for African Producer of the Year at the 2022 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA), alongside other top producers like Pheelz and DJ Maphoriza.

In October 2022, he was honored by BMI at the BMI London Awards for his contribution to “Love Nwantiti,” which won in the category of Most Performed Song of the Year.

Tempoe was also recognized as one of the Top Producers of 2021 in the TurnTable End of the Year Top 50.
