Early Life

Chike, a native of Onitsha in Anambra State, Nigeria, is one of four children. His decision to pursue a career in music was strongly influenced by his family.

He graduated from Covenant University with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. As a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actor, Chike’s music blends R&B, soul, and Afro-pop, creating a unique sound.

He gained significant popularity with his hit single “Amen” and has continued to release several successful songs and albums.

Career

Chike first gained attention as a contestant on Project Fame West Africa, where he reached the Top 10 before being eliminated.

He later auditioned for The Voice Nigeria, impressing judges with a cover of James Arthur’s “Roses” and joined Team Patoranking.

During the battle round, Chike performed Mario’s “Let Me Love You,” securing his place in the next round. Throughout the live shows, he showcased his vocal abilities with songs like Dare Art Alade’s “Not the Girl” and The Weeknd’s “Earned It,” earning saves from his coach and public votes.

In the semi-finals, he performed “Pullover” by Kcee and Wizkid. Chike made it to the finale, where he delivered powerful performances of Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry” and Kiss Daniel’s “Mama.” He finished as the runner-up, with A’rese taking first place.

After The Voice Nigeria, Chike signed with Universal Republic alongside the other top four finalists. He released his debut single “Fancy U” in December 2016, followed by the music video in early 2017.

He also became an ambassador for Airtel Nigeria. In 2017, Chike ventured into acting, landing the role of Mayowa Badmus in Battleground, a television drama on Africa Magic. He left Universal Republic in November 2017 to pursue an independent career and released his single “Beautiful People” in February 2018.

Chike’s debut studio album, Boo of the Booless, dropped in 2020, coinciding with a performance on the Big Brother Lockdown TV show. In September 2023, he became a brand ambassador for Glo alongside artists like Asake and Kizz Daniel.

Chike release his third studio album, Son of Chike, on July 19, 2024, which feature Olamide, Ladipoe, and Qing Madi.
